"I am a big music fan & love to hear certain instruments since I am a musician myself. Playing music & writing poetry has been therapy for me & I’ve invested time into them to become better. I want to keep progressing as a creative artist. One way I’m inspired is through watching interviews & the stories of people in our world who have made a huge difference positively through culture. I’m inspired to have a great work ethic to become one of the greats which takes a lot of discipline but is feasible.
I remember when T.C.F. was getting started; I loved seeing people pour passion into their craft as poets, artists, & beyond. There’s something for everyone at The Cultivated Fool that we all can benefit from, whether it’s focusing on mental health, empowering women, or listening to the kids for knowledge. Most recently my favorite post was from Jenny R. Thomas because of the way she talked about childhood trauma & how it can hold us back from achieving our highest potential. I’ve had my fair share of childhood trauma & no longer want to be bound by it. I would recommend T.C.F. to others because it’s not just a place for people who are creatives/artists. I genuinely believe whether you’re 9 years old or 90, that there is wisdom that can be gleaned from this page. I’m looking forward to the growth of this page the most because it has been growing quite fast in the past few months. The Cultivated Fool is very consistent & I love that about the page."
"I read various books & try to help people who are depressed. My hobbies include being a writer, pianist, healer, photographer, & drawer. I'm passionate about gaining more knowledge, writing more poetry, traveling to different places, doing social services, etc...
To me, The Cultivated Fool is a beautiful platform for people that wish to share their works & connect with each other from all around the world. The thing I love about the page the most is the growth that can be gained from sharing your work. The posts have personally enlightened me & made me realize that there are so many beautiful minds out there. I would recommend it to others in order to remind them that there is hope & that there is a platform where their work will be shared & be appreciated. I look forward to becoming a great writer and being part of this platform."
"I’m an English language & Anglo-American literature teacher. Dealing with students is more than work for me. It's part of my life. When I'm not working, I like reading, listening to music, watching movies, & talking to my friends. Those are all things I really enjoy. I believe in sharing feelings, thoughts & dreams not only make us feel stronger but also contributes to understanding ourselves better. It's a good way to promote peace & love among people. I hope humanity can finally make the world a place where we all can live in harmony with nature & animals.
I have yet to publish a book & I'm not sure if I want to do that or not. Writing for me is like a prayer. It's something that helps me get stronger, releases me from my pains & it gives me some freedom. Sometimes I put my prayers onto paper. However, I'm always doing my prayers.
I don't remember how The Cultivated Fool entered my life, but it is not so important. The importance is in how it affects my days. T.C.F. offered me a thick and marvelous book where I can read & see art from all the places on Earth. There's not a single time the work is not able to arise my inner emotions. I feel glad to share my feelings & to know that we, as human beings, are all the same no matter where we are, the gender or the age we carry with us. The Cultivated Fool is where we can find some peace, love & care. I've made some good friends since I took part of the group and it's priceless. In a world of so many people that still promote segregation, being part of T.C.F. make us feel united & part of a huge & lovely community. Long life to The Cultivated Fool!"
"My name is Sonay (pronounced Sonn-Eye). I was born and raised in North London, England where I still live today. I am of Turkish Cypriot ethnicity. I started writing as a coping mechanism after a bereavement almost 5 years ago. Over the past year, I have connected with a few different poetry platforms on the likes of Medium, LinkedIn and mainly Instagram. Poetry/writing has helped me on so many levels. I love to use my writing space to share my emotions & life experiences. One of the things I'm most passionate about is writing my experience with anxiety and depression --- having readers tell me that they resonate with my words is such a wonderful feeling. Having said that, I write about anything & everything that I feel or that comes to mind. It's a skill I get much pleasure from!
The Cultivated Fool reached out to me some months ago wanting to share my work on their Instagram page & of course, I was honored! I love that they search for and find so many different people from different backgrounds with different skills and share their stories on the Cultivated Fool platform. It feels like they are celebrating humans purely for what they love to do and I look forward to reading each story!"
"I have a big passion for various forms of art, but mostly writing, music and painting. I play several instruments and write in a variety of genres. Both these hobbies influence each other.
The Cultivated Fool has helped in making me more aware of different styles of writing & expressing yourself. Not only that, but I've also made several friends through this community! It is a great platform for sharing your thoughts & feelings with the world, no matter what kind of art you create. That is what art should ultimately be about--celebrating all its varieties."
"I have a passion for connection. I cultivate myself by reading & writing, trying to expand my mind & point of view. To expand my existence beyond myself, I suppose. And most of all, I cultivate myself by pouring into others. My biggest fear in life is to be unloved and unworthy. So seeing past the surface and making others feel loved and valued helps me grow & makes me feel like I’m making a difference. I’m currently studying Broadcast Media, learning the power of stories and how to tell them. I hope to one day make documentaries or create media for a church or company that impacts the world.
The Cultivated Fool has been a way for me to do just what I’m passionate about, connect. To be able to be a part of something so raw as someone’s art, someone I don’t even know, and yet be able to feel like I know them on a certain level...is empowering for me. Seeing other people’s art encourages me to create my own, not to listen to the voices that say it doesn’t matter or I shouldn’t bother. It gives people from all over the world a platform to share their art, whatever it may be, & connect with all different kinds of other people through doing so. On a platform like Instagram that is obsessed with mere appearances, T.C.F inspires authenticity in the world. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m excited to see this community of artists & creatives grow & connect with more people."
"If you'd ask me what my main goal in life was, I'd say to learn every inch of humility. If you really want to reach people, it is in the simple things like giving an elderly lady your seat on the bus, letting someone go first in line, & saying kind things because you never know whose day that might make.
I believe in talking to plants. I believe in negative & positive energies. And to make sure I align with positivity, I enjoy planting, recipe development, seeing live music, going out on adventures in nature, making crafts from tie-dye to jewelry to dream catchers & also pushing myself to make poetry out of anything. I want to reach people and ultimately teach them that enjoying the little things in life will one day make way for the big things & that it is possible to overcome mental illness; I too have fought so hard with my demons just to see the light. It is pages like The Cultivated Fool & the people who run it that make a difference. I think that is what truly inspired me."
"I am in marching band & choir. Most of my time is spent in school or band & choir. They are the main things I do. My biggest inspiration for my writing is probably my mental illness or my boyfriend. My biggest inspiration for my future is Demi Lovato because I've always wanted to be a singer and inspire people with my words.
The Cultivated Fool has brought inspiration to my poetry & got my writing juices flowing. Those gears in my brain are grating the poetry out. A lot of the things that I read on there I can deeply relate to as they post poetry and most poetry comes deep from the soul. You see some of the most intimate thoughts & feelings of others in their work. The Cultivated Fool account is just amazing."
"I want to learn more about human emotions. I wish to face all troubles I can bear & come out of it with lessons and experiences. I wanted to help out people who need me but with experience and time, I have learned that I can't help everyone or anyone just by being with them or being there for them. Trying to help, I lost many in the end, and I could only blame myself for the loss, so now I try helping them through my work. At this age I’m already bearing a lot but, I’m fine with it because life has taught me many ugly and wonderful lessons.
Now, about, The Cultivated Fool...I wasn't aware of this amazing page earlier but when I started reading the posts, I was speechless. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate their legacy and all of the members have amazing talents. Loads of wishes & prayers for T.C.F. & all of the members. I hope for this legacy to continue growing & achieving new goals. Love & blessings. Happy & prosperous 4th month to The Cultivated Fool."
"I have a passion for painting, drawing, writing, & reading. I am currently a student at Piedra Vista High School in New Mexico. Most days, I try to expand my creativity which helps me in developing new ideas from all of my surroundings & using those ideas in my work. Recently, I read the biography of Leonardo Da Vinci; a man with appreciation & admiration for the inspiration the world gives to us. Seeing other people’s perspective & thoughts gives me my own kind of understanding.
The Cultivated Fool is one of the most supportive communities I have ever seen on social media. Here, you find a group of people who are similar; people you can relate to. I have made good friends with many of the writers & artists who are apart of this community. Here, you also find support from so many people who want to know what you have to say. The most powerful thing we can do is encourage each other to obtain growth, & this is exactly the kind of teamwork that is provided at The Cultivated Fool."
